It is a small church cemetery of historic value due to the fact that members of Tolstoy’s family and their close associates are buried here. St. Nicolas Church was built in Kochaki in the second half of the 17 th century at the very place where, according to legend, a miraculous icon of St. Nicolas had been found. The church is located 2, 5 kilometers south of The Yasnaya Polyana Estate.
